child abyse vs WAR: Fatality Comparison

The War Zone

The total USA Military fatality count in both Iraqui operations, from March 2003 to the present:

3,260 in that FOUR year period to date.

Is this acceptable?
Does it seem reasonable?
Does it anger or dismay Y/you?

...........Hold that thought.......

Now consider these figures for the past YEAR

1,426 children killed by abuse and/neglect in the USA in ONE year (the majority <4>

1,232 women killed by an intimate partner in the USA in ONE year

and compare

3,260 USA military killed in Iraq war over 4 years to date

1,426 children killed by abuse and/neglect in the USA in ONE year

1,232 women killed by an intimate partner in the USA in ONE year

But one day troops will pull out of Iraq..... right?

For too many women and children, the home is a dangerous and deadly war zone.

Sooo, i'm guessing that if the military deaths of your country men and women concerns Y/you, then the deaths of Y/your women and children in their own homes is completely incensing Y/you ... and the great thing is, Y/you can do something to reduce the deaths in Y/your own community!!.. So.. what are Y/you waiting for?

I did not know that many Woman and children were lost to abuse each year, it would be nice if every one would take note and stay on the look out for any sign of abuse, but some go to great length to hide it and make like it is not happening or have been brain washed into believing that they brought it on to them selves.

sighs. I agree. We have to do something, but what? The Preditors use the internet to intice children to them. Hell they don't even have to leave their homes anymore. The police are helpless untill its to late. then they show up and say sorry we couldn't save your child. The courts just let the preditors go with a slap on the wrist and put them on a list. GESsssssssss its so stupid its almost funny. Untill we have judges that hand down life imprisonments or death penalties I see nothing helping. There seems to be NO crime deterrent, no one seems to care about crime or punishment anymore. Here in the states we seem have more groups of people FOR the criminal than against them.
I can't think of the name at the moment but its the group that is always up in arms about peoples rights. They have caused more damage to the criminal system in the last few years than ever before. Maybe we need more people for the victim than the criminal.

MIND BOGGLING STATS ....... when put in those terms sister, it is like a punch to the face or stomach .. if as many people that get behind our troops would get behind this fight to stop abuse and battery against children and women, maybe just maybe harsher sentences would be handed down to those doing this to children and women... look at PETA and what they have done to the FUR industry.. only way to keep this issue of child abuse in the front line and not stop talking about it once the month of April is done .. am speaking in general terms here .. i know that this is a personal issue for you sis... anyways .. thank you for keeping this out there for all to become more familiar with .. love you dearly sister .. ~warm hugs n kisses~ belle

Let's TRY to remember that this is USA Stop Abuse to Children month.. hmmmm??? ... let's focus on the young ones killed, abused and tortured in the suburbs. A little moment to offer our respects and to perhaps even to become committed to reducing this tragic situation.. not too much to ask surely? Or is it?

This is not an excuse to hijack a very important issue to further an unrelated political argument. War is a whole different ballgame and yes, there are plenty of stats from the UN, Amnesty International and UNICEF on the impact of women and children of war.. the IRONIC thing though.. *LOL wryly* .. peacetime isn't that much different for many in terms of stats on death, injury, mutilations and torture in their own homes...by their own countrymen. This is why there are several treaties addressing violence against women and children.

THE POINT was to compare USA military deaths which generate so much emotion.. to the deaths of USA children in peacetime in the USA.. which somehow doesn't seem to generate quite the same reaction .. curious... then again.. perhaps it may be said ... 'i rest my case'
